Bohle America: Everything for the Perfect Bond

The World's Largest Product Range for Glass Bonding and a World of Know-How

Thirty years ago no one would have dreamed that glass bonding would become one of the most fascinating, most reliable and most cost-efficient technologies for glass finishing. In the early 1980's, glass bonding involved a great amount of time, effort and money. The technological quantum leap in this field is closely associated with the name Bohle. The German company, whose USA headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a pioneer of glass bonding and today is considered its technological leader. For over 20 years Bohle has been at the forefront of this technology and has more experience than any competitor can offer. During that time, the company not only developed the world's largest product range for glass bonding, but also gained a vast amount of know-how. Customers all over the world profit from this pool of knowledge – and now customers of Bohle America have the same opportunity.

Complete Product Range

Bohle's glass bonding program covers the entire spectrum from pre-treatment to fixation to the bonding process itself including curing. Special cleaners, hot air fans, kits for Pyrosil silicate technology and loads of additional products ensure an optimum pre-treatment of the bonding surfaces. The Verifix fixation aids, based on the reliable Veribor vacuum cups, are available as angle suction holders, eccentric vacuum stops, clamping devices, magnetic fixation units, pump-activated angle suction holders and corner clamps for high-precision positioning of the assembly parts. With these fixation aids, one person can easily manage all the necessary work steps of even the most complicated furniture designs. As far as the adhesives themselves are concerned, Bohle offers a comprehensive range for every possible requirement: crystal clear or transparent, with low, medium or high viscosity. Many of the adhesives have been exclusively developed for Bohle customers and special bonding requirements. While special emphasis is placed on UV bonding, Bohle also offers other adhesives such as polyurethane or epoxy resin adhesives. The Verifix 2-K (two-component) silicone adhesive was especially developed for surface bonding of glass.

Metering units and dispensing aids ensure that the correct amount of adhesive is applied. When it comes to curing UV adhesives, the company offers specially developed hand lamps and fluorescent tube lamps. For beginners as well as professionals, there are glass bonding kits with everything needed for optimum results. Bohle also has products and innovations for industrial glass bonding, ideal for shower and door panel manufacturers or shopfitters and trade fair builders, for example. These products make it possible to automate bonding processes, thus allowing efficient and economical serial production. A comprehensive range of fittings and metal hardware – perfectly suited to the bonding products – allows consistent design solutions from a single source.

 A Comprehensive Service Package

Products are not the only thing that Bohle has to offer. They also have the know-how for using them to the best advantage. Over 20 years of experience in glass bonding have led to profound expertise in technical applications and problem solving. Experienced professionals provide customer assistance for all aspects of glass bonding. It might be a simple answer by phone to a craftsman's question about which adhesive to use, or it could be finding a solution to a complex problem through trial bondings and load tests. Gary Dean, CEO of Bohle America, points out, "We can help almost 100% of the time.“

In addition, Bohle experts regularly pass on their bonding knowledge to beginners as well as professionals in workshops and seminars. The next seminars on glass bonding will take place in June (June 15 – 18, Charlotte, June 22 – 23, San Francisco, June 25 – 27, Los Angeles). Frank Ruzicka, a master glazier who has been with Bohle since 1984, will again instruct the two-day workshops. "Big Frank", known to many from the last GlassBuild America, has impressive professional knowledge gained from over 30 years of experience working with glass.

Service also includes technical assistance in setting up individual workplaces or entire assembly lines. When the customer has a project, he can count on Bohle to be there for him from development all the way to serial production. If desired, this can include training on site and an individual service package for his company. "We develop workflows to give the customer maximum process reliability – in regard both to durability of the bond and to quality of the production process," Dean emphasizes.
